Getting started

Set up your profile and generate your first bio in about 5 minutes.

1. Create an account

Sign up at askjoey.io with your email or Google account. You'll get free credits to try things out.

2. Fill out your profile

Go to My Profile in the sidebar. The more you fill in, the better your results will be. At minimum, you need:

  • Name and age
  • A short bio (even a rough draft works)
  • At least one photo

The profile page shows a completion percentage. Aim for 80%+ before generating anything. AskJoey uses this information as input for every feature, so skipping fields means less personalized output.

Optional but helpful:

  • Interests (pick at least 3)
  • What you're looking for (relationship type, age range)
  • Lifestyle details (exercise, pets, diet)

3. Pick a platform

Choose the dating app you want to optimize for from the sidebar. Each app has its own quirks:

  • Tinder -- Short bios, photo-first. The bio optimizer focuses on punchy one-liners and hooks.
  • Hinge -- Prompt-based. The optimizer generates answers to Hinge's specific prompts.
  • General -- Works for any app or situation. Good starting point if you're not sure.

4. Generate something

Pick a feature (bio, photos, or coach) and hit generate. Each generation uses credits -- the exact cost depends on the feature.

You can regenerate as many times as you want (credits permitting). The AI produces different results each time, so if the first output isn't great, try again.

5. Edit and use

Copy the generated text, download the photos, or screenshot the conversation suggestions. AskJoey gives you raw material -- you should always read through it and adjust anything that doesn't sound like you.

Tips

  • The bio optimizer works best when your profile has real interests and a rough bio to work from. "I like dogs" gives it more than an empty field.
  • For photos, upload a clear, well-lit selfie as your reference. The AI needs to see your face clearly to generate good results.
  • The dating coach is most useful when you add context about your match (their interests, what they wrote in their profile).
