Introduction
AskJoey is an AI-powered dating profile optimization platform. We help you write better dating bios, generate dating profile photos, and get AI coaching for your online dating conversations. This privacy policy explains what data we collect when you use these services and how we handle it.
This policy applies to all features on askjoey.io, including our dating profile writer, photo boost tool, and dating coach.
What we collect
We collect these categories of data:
Account data — your name, email address, and login credentials when you sign up. If you use Google or other social login, we receive the basic profile information you authorize.
Dating profile content — the bios, prompts, and personal details you enter into our dating profile writer. This includes your dating app preferences, interests, and any text you ask us to optimize.
Photos — images you upload for our photo boost and AI photo generation features. We process these to score, rank, and generate new dating profile photos for you.
Payment data — billing details processed through Stripe or PayPal. We do not store your full credit card number on our servers.
Usage data — which features you use, how often, and what actions you take within the app. This helps us improve the dating profile tools.
Device and browser data — device type, operating system, browser, and IP address. Standard web analytics data.
Cookies — we use cookies for authentication, preferences, and analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
How we use your data
We use what we collect to:
- Generate and optimize your dating profile bios and content
- Process and generate AI dating profile photos
- Provide AI dating coach responses
- Process payments and manage your account
- Send service-related emails (not marketing, unless you opt in)
- Improve our dating profile tools based on aggregate usage patterns
- Detect fraud and abuse
AI processing
When you use our dating profile writer or photo generation tools, your content is processed by third-party AI providers (including Replicate and other model providers). We send only the data needed to generate your results. These providers process data according to their own privacy policies and do not use your dating profile content to train their models.
Your dating profile photos are processed temporarily for AI generation and stored only as long as needed to deliver results to you.
Data storage and security
Your data is stored on servers managed through Cloudflare and our database providers. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Access to user data is restricted to essential personnel only.
No system is 100% secure. If we discover a breach affecting your data, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data or dating profile content.
We share data only with:
- AI service providers — to process your dating profile content and photos (as described above)
- Payment processors — Stripe and PayPal, to handle transactions
- Analytics tools — aggregated, non-personal usage data
- Legal authorities — when required by law or to protect our rights
Your rights
You can:
- Access and download your dating profile data through your account settings
- Delete your account and associated data by contacting us
- Opt out of non-essential cookies
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails (service emails will continue)
If you are in the EU/EEA, you have additional rights under GDPR including data portability and the right to restrict processing.
Data retention
We keep your account data and dating profile content while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain it.
AI-generated dating profile photos are stored for the duration of your account. Temporary processing data is deleted within 24 hours.
Children
AskJoey is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the app. The date at the top of this page shows when the policy was last revised.
